Jama is an asymmetric coat with a flared skirt, popular in South Asia during the Mughal period but still seen in various forms today. I felt it’s simple shape was a perfect addition to our Brocadia collection and the sari borders and end panel work so well with the design. Gathered in Rajasthan the sumptuous vintage sari fabric with elaborate woven metal thread decoration, has been repurposed for us by our Indian tailors, each of the coats is unique. Ideal for wearing as a costume cover up, for an evening out or dress down with jeans for street wear.
Please note the fabrics are vintage pieces and have already had a life in another guise, so there may be imperfections and signs of wear. This all adds to the charm of the coat, it has history.
We recommend this item be dry cleaned or washed gently by hand in cold water.
